why join hot literati
by hailo
As you get older, the world will try to break you of the part that really knows how to be alive. The part that cries with a beautiful sunset or knows how to think for yourself or can say things like "no, this is not the life path for me."

At the toughest points of my life, art has rescued me. Like Dostoevsky saying:
"At some thoughts one stands perplexed — especially at the sight of men's sin — and wonders whether one should use force or humble love. Always decide to use humble love. If you resolve on that, once and for all, you may subdue the whole world. Loving humility is marvelously strong, the strongest of all things, and there is nothing else like it."

Or the way Eva Hesse's self-portraits show you that art can really exhume feelings you didn't even know you had. Or the part of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 3 that feels like floating through the sky and a river all at once.

You deserve a life of beauty. A life of art. A life meditating on these things and discussing it with others. Together, we can save art, culture, and cling onto the beauty that we all know innately when we are young.

Join hot literati for that.
