30. Little deaths/Little delights

Everyone say, good morning Victoria

Hi hi,

Happy Sunday (Monday?Tuesday?). These past three weeks have been some of the most exciting ones of my life. It's been such a pleasure getting to explore the Literati Universe. I got to experience the type of creative freedom that I only dreamed of before and in turn I've uncovered so much of who I am as a writer (and human!) and I'm excited to keep playing around with that more. Thanks for talking to me throughout it all -- I read every single one of your thoughtful comments and DMs. They mean the world to me!

Now, I'm passing on the baton (or rather, the fuzzy pink journal). It's Victoria season!!!

You all are great, and I know you will be great to Vic too. I can't wait for you all to see what she has in store for you.

Hi, it's Victoria.

I'm writing this on a Peter Pan bus on the way home from Philadelphia, listening to spanish love songs and tired with gratitude and peace.

This is the energy I'm offering you for the next few weeks, along with a liberating dedication to fun and adventure. I'm excited to see what, if anything, changes about the way we live alongside each other. 'Tis the season.

LITTLE DEATHS

  • overthinking human interactions - easier said than done, I know, but this weekend I re-remembered that human interaction is the simplest most natural manifestation of living. It is something we are meant to do, like animals in their natural habitats or plants in their native ecosystems.

  • needing clarity - confusion isn't always dangerous. Clarity, especially in personal situations and relationships, is a facade to satisfy the desire to control. Everything is always changing and nothing is 100% certain...let it go.

LITTLE DELIGHTS

  • short trips with more than one purpose - I was in Philly to see my good friend from college and to attend the BlackStar Film Festival, making the weekend a meaningfully full one.

  • hearing yourself from miles away - accessorize, wear loud shoes, sing your favorite songs.

  • tattoos - more on this later this month ;)

  • pets - I've been spending a lot of time around my friends' dogs and it has made me appreciate dogs more as a tried-and-true cat person. I think it's because I love their caretakers.

(re)Cognition summer task

exercise the connection between your senses and mind by going somewhere you're unfamiliar with, putting a destination in your phone's gps, and letting the AI voice guide you by telling you where to go (instead of you looking at the screen and twisting it every which way to triple check your direction). Then try to get back to your original destination without any guidance, just based on what you remember seeing, feeling, smelling while you walked and listened to your tour guide.

this is the 9th (re)Cognition Summer task. The next one will be the 10th and final one.

  • ISO FUNDRAISING ᡣ𐭩 •。ꪆৎ ˚⋅ "Mr. Cardboard is our debut theater comedy show we're bringing to the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August. It's a knowing pastiche of childhood fantasy stories, like The Snowman or Peter Pan. It begins following a classic narrative about a boy meeting his magical imaginary friend, Mr. Cardboard and tonally glides through moments of pathos, horror, absurdism, and more, all through an expertly stupid lens." Currently fundraising to get the show to Edinburgh Fringe Festival at this link
