Why Can't I just Journal Like Everyone Else

Hi all!

Popping in because I have a new obsession/narrative intrigue.

I've been journaling a ton lately because life has honestly been sort of nuts each and every day. I've found myself in the craziest situations, I'm really intrigued with how it feels to write them down and then shut them up in a little notebook that's on my shelf and only in my mind.

I love the connection that I feel to a lot of you and I think there's something there about having your experience witnessed by someone else. That's why I'm trying out this model of putting small amounts of pieces in the shop instead of in a journal as a series called "XO HAILO" where I reflect on things that happen.

Here are the two available now. They will be printed out and mailed to you, or one person will get the original copy (handwritten). There will only be 3-5 of each moving forward:

XO, HAILO #2 - WANT ME AS MORE THAN AN IDEA: The Mulberry 2 & 3

I went on 3 dates to the same bar + reflected on each. It got deep. Purchase here

XO, HAILO #3 - MADONNA WHORE CHILD SLEEP SECRET BAR IN SOHO

I spend a lot of time wandering around talking to strangers. More than I should. This night I went from a date at a very nice Italian restaurant with a very stylish man to this weird exclusive bar in SoHo owned by an Italian family, all because I was looking for this one older Italian man who gives me advice sometimes because I felt very existential and confused, all while intern Matias was in an uber back from the airport with my bag because I'd decided -- at the gate -- not to get on a flight to California the day before. Purchase here

The rules for these is as follows:

by purchasing you agree not to put it online. You are allowed to quote very very small phrases, but if "too much" (my discretion) is shared digitally, everyone who owns that piece will be blacklisted from purchasing another.

hardcore, no?

ALSO

  • We're having this reading/party on Friday in New York. One person will win a free tattoo. GET A TICKET HERE (use code 'JONLITERATI' for friends and family price)

    • (this is a very long very convoluted story, but we are also working on a short film and will only invite people who have already been to one of our events to the premiere, so highly recommend coming to this one. The girls are busy. But all in good fun)
