Epiphany! Tonight!
Good art takes time! It takes time and people feel the time you put into good art when they experience it. They can feel that — when you do the art for the sake of the art itself and not the glory in having made it. And I have felt guilty for so long for taking so long to make this particular piece of art but I’m realizing that I have needed it — I have needed this thing to work on for so long so that I can have something to pour into when I’m feeling too strongly. Something to remind myself of a purpose when I’m afraid I’ve surpassed all of mine. So that I can realize that my skill set is doing everything too much, leaning in too far and always always tipping over. And this is my skill! It’s what I’m good at! And I can’t do this quickly, I can’t do this lazily, it’s time to give it all everything! everything! no shortcuts. no shortcuts in this art. I promise you that, I do. I do.
