A companion to his earlier "Heretics," in which critics had asked Chesterton what he actually believed, if not what he'd spent a whole book arguing against — "Orthodoxy" is his answer, and it reads less like a sermon than like an adventure story, full of paradox, wit, and genuine strangeness. You don't have to share the conclusion to enjoy watching one of the 20th century's best prose stylists argue his way toward it.
