Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and any profile information you choose to provide (name, city, bio, profile photo). Reading and activity data: We collect data about your reading activity, including books you track, annotations and notes you create, milestones you reach, and content you submit to the blog or community. Community data: Messages and content you post in community chat rooms, book club discussions, and public activity feeds. Purchase information: When you purchase a membership or event ticket, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. We retain records of transactions, subscription status, and entitlements. Device and usage data: We collect standard web and app analytics data including IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and feature usage. This is used to improve the product.

We use your information to: - Provide and improve the Hot Literati service - Manage your account and subscription - Deliver reading guides, event communications, and product updates - Run community features including chat rooms and book clubs - Process payments and manage entitlements - Respond to support requests - Comply with legal obligations We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We use the following third-party services to operate the platform: Supabase: Hosts our database and authentication system. Your account credentials and app data are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Stripe: Processes all payments including memberships and event tickets. Stripe's privacy policy governs how they handle payment information. RevenueCat: Manages in-app subscription purchases made through the iOS and Android apps. Cloudflare R2: Stores user-uploaded files including profile photos and annotation images. Railway: Hosts our backend API servers. Apple and Google: If you download our mobile app, your relationship with these platforms is governed by their respective privacy policies.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention and financial recordkeeping. Community content (chat messages, blog posts) that you have contributed may be retained in de-identified or archived form.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: - Access the personal data we hold about you - Correct inaccurate data - Request deletion of your data - Object to or restrict certain processing - Port your data to another service To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@hotliterati.com.
