Actually, I Really Like Writing

Happy Friday!

This morning I went on a quick jog and met a woman in the elevator who rescued one of those beagles from that cruel shelter that made the news. It put its paws around my wrist and looked me in my eyes. It was very very cute.

I've been really focusing on reading and writing, limiting all of my other creative projects that are not writing focused until I finish my draft. I used to think that bringing discipline into my craft would kill the joy, but it's been one of the most fulfilling things I've ever done. I'm almost at the end and I've written everything by hand!

This has also deeply informed the product development of Hot Literati as a platform and app. You can do reading and writing sessions, take notes, and make sure that you actually put in the time in the app. It's helped me so much with focus.

In other news, I'm hosting an in person writing workshop in New York this winter. I've done a lot of virtual ones, but this one is a small in person cohort focused on imagining and finishing a full story alongside other writers.

I turn 26 tomorrow and I've been reflecting a lot on who I am in this phase of life. I'm really grateful to be someone who loves my work, and I work non-stop because I love it. If you put me in a vacuum, I'd still write, I'd still make things, because I literally don't know what else I'd do.
