If Murakami Did it, So can U
and events in NYC and Chicago

Good morning Hot Literatis!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. My roommate threw a great dinner party and I did some long runs.
Haruki Murakami apparently runs 6 miles a day when he's working on a project. For better or worse, my inner monologue is very "if he can do it, I can do it," so I ran seven miles yesterday and six this morning.
Some Stuff I did
Last week, I also attended a couple of cool things:
Unfinished Projects by Google Chrome
Now on the Chelsea Highline, you can walk through an exhibit that features work by Solange, Joe Burrows, and Pink Pantheress. My favorite part of the opening was the corned beet being passed around (love a veg!).
A NEW ORTHODOX
I was also invited to this talk between Arthur Jafa & Banna Desta about a theater project they're undergoing. Cool convos about artmaking and they had great coffee and a Panettone cake that was delicious. I'm noticing a theme here in myself haha.
Some stuff you can do
We have a cool docket of events on Hot Literati coming up, like:
Rage To Rise: A Women's Space To Come Alive
TONIGHT in Brooklyn!
This is a rage space for women to come alive. Most of us have been taught that anger is something we shouldn't feel or express. What if our anger can become a source of clarity, aliveness, agency, and creation? Together we will research anger through embodied expression and exploration. Come as you are & rage your heart out in a community of women that are here to hold you.
Book Swap/Meetup
THIS FRIDAY in Chicago
Join us for a very casual meetup! Bring a good to connect with other Hot Literatis and leave with a different book!
An UNMUTED Debate: Money in Politics, Baby!
Next Tuesday in New York
In 2010, Citizens United v. FEC held that the government can't ban corporations, unions, or nonprofits from spending money on political speech. The 1st Amendment, the Court said, doesn't get weaker because the speaker is an organization rather than a person. Was it right? We're bringing Harvard Law's Larry Lessig and Manhattan Institute's Ilya Shapiro to fight tooth and nail on the issue to find out.
UNMUTED: irreverent political debates where the audience IS the moderator.
In sum,
I've been working on my own novel. I'm about 40,000 words in and the features on Hot Literati have helped me so much with planning and actually writing.
If you're looking for a better way to be online that connects you with an art practice and interesting cool people, upgrade to Hot Literati Pro.
Thank u all
have a great week
