Nabokov Night

On Tuesday, June 9th, Hot Literati convened 20 members at LES Wine on the Lower East Side to examine Vladimir Nabokov's *Lolita* and related works.

The gathering involved group discussions analyzing *Lolita* through multiple interpretive lenses. One group explored the novel's romantic dimensions, noting that "The themes of Lolita seem overtly romantic" while acknowledging the unreliable narrator creates tension between H.H.'s perception and reality.

Participants then performed skits based on other Nabokov works: *Pnin*, *Invitation to a Beheading*, and *Pale Fire*.

The event concluded with informal socializing among attendees.

The organizers thanked LES Wine for hosting and invited readers to join upcoming New York events or become members of Hot Literati's community focused on becoming "hotter, smarter, and better at hanging out."
