Hotter Literati
Short-form Chicago

hello angels!
Today, I am on a train in Chicago.
As I sat on the plane I was actually amazed at the proliferation of short form content.
It doesn't annoy me but I have to admit that I literally just don't enjoy it anymore. I do not enjoy scrolling through short-form video, as if it is the taste of a food that I've grown out of.
Obviously I like to read. These days I have a really hard time sitting still, but here in Chicago we're having a Book Swap, so that satisfies my social side. I guess these days I'm just wondering what entertainment is anymore. As an idea, as an industry. As a philosophy.
I'm not really sure, but throughout the past few years I've undergone this pivot where I like creating things just as much, if not more than consuming them. That's true for music, for events, for writing (though I obviously love reading just as much), through fashion, through so much.
And Hot Literati rose out of a sort of a desire to connect with other people who were also intentional consumers or people who wanted to be creative in a way that felt sustainable and peaceful.
I'm so excited to meet some of you at the book swap tonight in Chicago! And if you're somewhere in the world reading this and you're reading to start making just as much stuff as you're consuming, become a Hot Literati Member!
What do you think entertainment is in today's landscape ?!?
