Distribution: how it reaches people

A great thing nobody can find doesn’t sell. Distribution is every road from you to a buyer.

1. 1Direct: you sell it yourself, on your site, at a show, by email. You keep the most, and you do all the work.
2. 2Retail and wholesale: shops buy it and sell it. You keep less, and you reach people you never would.
3. 3Platforms: an app store, a marketplace, a streaming service. Huge reach, and they set the rules and take a cut.
4. 4Most working artists use a mix of all three.
