Lesson 3 of 12 · 10 min
Margin: what you actually keep
Revenue is what comes in. Margin is what’s left after it costs you to make and deliver it.
- 1Margin = price minus the cost of one more sale (materials, printing, shipping, fees).
- 2Example: a $40 print that costs $9 to print and $6 to ship, with $2 in payment fees, leaves $23. That’s a 57% margin.
- 3Low-margin things need lots of sales. High-margin things can work with a few.
