Circles and ellipses
Cups, eyes, wheels, plates: round things are everywhere, and they’re mostly ellipses.
- 1Ghost the circle a few times in the air, then let the pencil touch down while your arm is still moving.
- 2Go around two or three times, lightly. Keep the best one.
- 3An ellipse is a circle seen at an angle. The more you tilt it away, the thinner it gets.
Try it today
Draw a row of ellipses that go from a full circle to a thin line, then draw a cup from above and from the side.
