A La Vieille Russie
The story
A family business that outlasted the Russian Revolution, A La Vieille Russie was founded in Kiev in 1851 and rebuilt in Paris around 1920 by Jacques Zolotnitsky, grandson of the founder, with his nephew Léon Grinberg. The Paris shop became a focal point for Russian émigré aristocracy and intellectual life. It eventually found a permanent home on Fifth Avenue, where it has bought and sold many of the Fabergé Imperial Easter Eggs — objects made for the Romanov court and now among the rarest things on earth.
