Infosys Theater
The story
This theater has had six names — and one of them honored a bank that no longer exists. Opened in 1968 as the Felt Forum, named for then-company president Irving Mitchell Felt, the venue tucked beneath Madison Square Garden's main arena has since cycled through corporate christenings that read like a timeline of American business fortunes. Washington Mutual paid for naming rights in 2007, then collapsed in 2009, erasing the name with it. Seating between 2,000 and 5,600, it hosts concerts, shows, sports, and meetings — a shapeshifting room that outlasts every sponsor.
