Jekyll & Hyde Club
The story
A haunted house crossed with Chuck E. Cheese's, the Jekyll & Hyde Club dressed itself as a 1930s British explorers club gone gloriously wrong. Owned by Eerie World Entertainment in Manhattan, it drew its name from Robert Louis Stevenson's 1886 Victorian gothic novel. Actors roamed the dining room playing characters like Gertrude K. Boom, club demolitions expert, and Mr. Aloysius Goole, chief mortician, performing membership inductions table-side between bites of burgers and pizza. Animatronic creatures and special effects filled the gaps. It was absurd and specific in equal measure — exactly the kind of place a city needs.
