PaceWildenstein

The story

The gallery named after a father's nickname — 'Pacey' — was founded by a 22-year-old in Boston in 1960. Arne Glimcher ran it with his wife, Milly, and his mother, Eva. In 1963 he partnered with Fred Mueller and, with help from friend Ivan Karp, opened on East 57th Street in Manhattan. Eva later kept a branch alive in Columbus, Ohio, until her death in 1982. Glimcher's son Marc now serves as president and CEO, overseeing nine locations across three continents.
