Palisades

The story

Palisades was shut down mid-festival — during Northside 2016 — in what was later described as the final raid in a series of M.A.R.C.H. multi-agency inspections targeting the venue. Founded by Leeor Waisbrod, Rose Fathers, and Ariel Bitran at 906 Broadway in Bushwick, it began with art shows in April 2014 before pivoting to concerts. In two years it hosted hundreds of them — Parquet Courts, Skepta, Xiu Xiu, Hinds. Management promised closure would last only a few days. By August 2016, it was permanent.
